Writer Profiles

GEOFF & RUTH MCCOLL are a couple from Mangatapere, Whangarei, Northland. Geoff is mad keen on planes, especially flying top dressing planes which was his livelihood. He is a real country lad at heart. They are keen Adventist Church members with Hope International. The Adventists have two television channels – ‘Hope’ and ‘Firstlight’. Hope has kept them busy with supplying clothes for the Islands, especially Vanuatu. The need is so great since cyclone Pam struck March 2015. Ruth works two days a week for a clothing business in Kensington. On Wednesdays she spends the afternoon working for the Hospice where 300 volunteers work. Currently, she is enjoying  writing her  biography – with joviality!  And she looks forward to printing the booklet mid next year. Her pets are ‘Ginger’ the cat, and ‘Rastus’ the Boarder Collie Laborador cross dog. She looks forward to her sons having grandkids. She has many friends in Northland. They have five sons combined, they are adults now. One of her sons lives with them. They have 5 grandchildren, 3 girls and 2 boys.
