FROM FEAR TO FREEDOM: The Transformation Of Yuna-land (Second Edition 2021). The Yuna tribe in Papua New Guinea were completely unreached by missionaries until 1961 “There is a dense population of thousands barely touched with the Gospel” was the pioneer missionary report at the time. This book describes how in less than ten years the Yuna tribe was set free from lifelong bondage to evil spirits and how they enjoy the freedom of being God’s children. Writing from her mission station in Yuna-land in those days of pioneering mission, the author follows the stories of transformation as they happened. Here is a readable and lively account of a modern mission movement that anyone with an interest in cross-cultural mission will find an inspiration. Published by Nenge Books, Australia. In New Zealand, this book is available from Ossie Fountain: ossie@fountainclan.net. Cost: NZ$20 +P&P.

Marjorie Pethybridge, with her late husband, Ivor, were missionaries with Christian Missions in Many Lands in Papua New Guinea 1960-1969. Ivor and Marjorie were the first missionaries to take the Gospel to the Pori Valley among the Yuna people of Hela Province in 1962. Marjorie originally published the story of those years in 1970 after returning to New Plymouth, NZ with her 2 children, Lynette and Richard. Predeceased by her husband by some years, Marjorie passed into heaven in August 2012 aged 92. Before she died, she signed the agreement for the second edition of this book, edited and revised by Ossie Fountain.
