Rosie Boom
ROSIE BOOM, author, speaker and singer-songwriter, lives with her husband Chris and their six children on a small lifestyle block near Whangarei. She spent her childhood in the jungles of New Guinea, and wrote her first short story there at age nine. It won an Australasian short story competition and Rosie received a first edition copy of The Fellowship of the Ring as a prize. She is a registered nurse, and worked for a year in Borneo before returning to NZ to marry Chris. They have six children whom Rosie home schools. She speaks at many homeschooling conventions and parenting workshops throughout NZ and overseas. She began writing in earnest in 1999 and a number of her short stories and articles have been published in the NZ School Journal and overseas magazines. She has had seven books published.
