Writer Profiles

VALMAI REDHEAD is an emerging author who believes that writing stories matters. Her library career nurtured a passion for books about people who have made a difference in the world. It was a delight helping Flo Brown write her experiences as a missionary nurse in Nepal – Precious Treasure Clay Pot (Castle Publishing 2012). It was a privilege writing From Waidale to the World (Castle Publishing 2018) celebrating fifty years of the Waidale Missionary Trust. She enjoys delving into history, and reflective writing, with work published in four anthologies and in NZ Memories magazine. Valmai grew up in Dunedin but has lived in Southland for more than forty years. She is an active member of Calvin Community Church in Gore.
